Georgia Tech architecture graduate Michael Arad was only two years out of grad school working in New York City when he found himself running towards the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, hoping to help in some way. After that tragedy, Arad designed of two 30-ft. deep reflecting pools sitting in the footprints of the fallen towers.
