This technique is used to create very thin slices of tissue to be labelled using antibodies to target specific molecules and proteins, and then using fluorescent antibodies to show where the molecules of interest are located in our cells. We use a medium that is hard when cold (-20 Celsius) so we can put our tissue inside of it and then slice it using a very sharp cold blade. Check out the tools we use to prepare our samples for visualization! #sc
