OpenAIは16日(米国時間)、コーディングエージェント「Codex」の大規模アップデートを開始した。これまでの「コーディング」だけでなく、computer use(コンピューター操作)や画像生成に対応し、より広範な開発作業を可能とする。

Codexが単なるコード生成ツールを超えて、作業の“すべて”を担う方向に進化をはじめた。OpenAIは4月16日、Codexの大規模アップデートを発表。アプリ操作、画像生成、記憶機能、長期タスクの自動継続まで含む開発支援へ拡張した。同日から、ChatGPTでサインインしているCodexデスクトップアプリ利用者向けに順次開始される。
